In a city full of Victorian homes, the Flavel House is the biggest and the fanciest—and the only one open for tours. Situated in the heart of downtown, the restored 1886 Queen Anne mansion stands proud with a turret, gingerbread trim and lavish interiors. (You might remember it as the museum where Mikey’s dad worked in The Goonies.) Captain George Flavel, a noted Columbia River Bar pilot, was also a prominent Astoria investor and one of the city’s first millionaires.
