Another great museum to visit in Fira is Santozeum. It houses the frescoes discovered in Akrotiri at the excavated archaeological site. Completely empty at the time of our visit...people just past by it not even giving it a though which is too bad cause the interior is cool and beautiful. It also offers a pretty spectacular view from the outside as it is at the top of the mountain.

When was the last time you visited a museum that had this kind of view? Santozeum museum offers breathtaking views over the Caldera. Even if you are not interested in seeing the inside of museum, do go and sit down on the chairs provided and take it all in. We sat there after the museum visit. The breeze is so wonderful that we did not want to leave.
