Finca Emma Banana Plantation
You may not have thought about it when peeling a banana in your kitchen at home, but most bananas consumed in the U.S. (and elsewhere) come from Nicaragua. In fact, Finca Emma, a 300-hectare (741-acre) plantation, is the largest banana exporter in the world, and you can visit it while in Corinto. All excursions give a glimpse of the entire growing and production process, and some trips include a stop for lunch and shopping at a nearby hacienda.
