We All Want Some Figgy Pudding
Early in December, dozens of caroling teams brave the cold downtown
Seattle streets for the annual Great Figgy Pudding Caroling Competition. Stroll through the blocked-off streets around Westlake Park, listen to local groups belting out holiday tunes, and vote for your favorite; the top-rated teams head to the main stage for the final showdown. The event is free, but consider dropping some cash into the donation boxes — Figgy Pudding raises funds for the Pike Market Senior Center & Food Bank, providing free meals, groceries, counseling and other services to low-income and homeless neighbors in need. (Rest assured, no one actually has to eat figgy pudding.)
