Having worked in the music industry for nearly two years before switching to travel writing full-time, I attended more concerts than I can count. However, Québec Festival d'été made my record label days seem like a walk in the park.
The festival has several stages: three main stages and a couple indoors. Some of the venues are free of charge but for the bigger stages, there is a small entrance fee. The festival pass was $76 and a day pass cost $30. Once you are on the grounds, you can purchase drinks and food.
This year, I was able to see both The Wu-Tang Clan and The Black Keys. Other musical acts during the eleven day (July 4-14) festival included Bruno Mars, Carly Rae Jepsen and Guns N’ Roses. Genres range from traditional Québec music to hip-hop, punk, pop and rock.
