Fairview Lawn Cemetery
This cemetery is famous for its connection to the Titanic, and it is a haunting reminder of the maritime tragedy. More than one hundred people who perished when the ocean liner sank were buried here after Halifax vessels aided in the recovery efforts. Plain granite stones mark most of the graves, though more elaborate memorials, such as a Celtic cross and a carved slab honoring the “Unknown Child,” are also among the tombstones.
