The One Dessert You Need To Try In Lisbon Thats Not A Pasteis de Nata
After tasting the creamy crispiness that is the Pasteis de Nata or egg custard tart on a previous trip to Macau, I was so happy to be indulging in more than my fair share of these on our trip to Lisbon, Portugal.
I can't deny how scrumptious these are, but it was another dessert from our month in Lisbon that I keep dreaming about... the Pastel Feijão from Fábrica do Pastel Feijão.
After following our noses through the Alfama neighbourhood, we stumbled across a little bakery, Fábrica do Pastel Feijão. Here they specialise in Pastel Feijão, which is a white bean and almond pastry. Who thought beans could taste so good? It had almost a creme brulee type exterior and a delicious filling.
This particular Pastel Feijão has been modernised just enough to capture all the flavours of the past in a new little package.
