Few sights match watching a blue-footed booby performing its mating dance. Thanks to the well-preserved environment and visitor restrictions on the Galápagos, animals here flaunt their intimate routines in open view of the public. The extraordinary booby, with its turquoise feet and piercing eyes, enters into a whistling, wing-waving and feet-slapping show to entrance all onlookers. For the males, the more powerful their feet pigmentation the better. A strong blue shows youth and the ability to reproduce. These marine birds can be found on many islands including Española, Genovesa and San Cristóbal.
