The Review:
From Hawaiian hotel experts Aqua-Aston Hospitality (who have more than 30 properties on the islands), comes this lavish boutique hotel on the edge of storied Waikiki Beach. Each of the nine multi-bedroom suites occupies an entire floor and has private elevator entrances, ensuring the utmost confidentiality and discretion—perfect for celebs and other families and groups who require privacy. Shared areas include a rooftop Jacuzzi, infinity pool, and deck with sweeping views of the island and a full-service spa that draws inspiration from Hawaiian elements for its signature treatments, like a three-hour ritual that includes a crushed pearl and pikake flower body polish, violet clay wrap, and a floral poultice massage. Be sure to book a table at Mugen, which brings high-end Japanese-French dishes alongside a large collection of rare Japanese whiskies, sake, and 500 bottles of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC) wines—valued at more than $5 million. But for those who want to dine in their room, each suite boasts a large living space and kitchen with Thermador and Miele appliances. Of course, if you don’t feel like cooking, just order up a private chef. And if you don’t feel like packing, take advantage of the hotel’s partnership with Neiman Marcus, which will bring a curated wardrobe and stylist to your door. While you wait for your meal or your clothes, glimpse the perfect Hawaiian sunset from your own Jacuzzi that’s perched on the private balcony. Décor in the two-or three-bedroom suites features dining room tables crafted from a whole slab of Carrara marble imported from Italy; chandeliers and lighting accents from Morocco, hand-knotted Persian rugs, and locally and globally sourced art, like handcrafted sculptures of famous native Hawaiian surfer Duke Kahanamoku. Other amenities include 24-hour check in/out, personal butlers and access to a luxury fleet of cars, making it possible to get anything you want, whenever you want it.
