Escape to the Islands
St Vincent and the Grenadines
Escape to the IslandsSt. Vincent is by far the largest island in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and also home to most of the country’s residents, but there are a few dozen other islands all waiting to be explored, extending out from the southern tip of St. Vincent. It’s no wonder the country is high on the list of many sailors.
The largest of the Grenadines is Bequia, which you can reach by ferry from St. Vincent. Life on this green seven-square-mile island is centered on postcard-perfect Admiralty Bay, where you’ll also find the appealingly quiet capital, Port Elizabeth. Mustique has long been the retreat of English royalty and jet-setters from around the world. You can sail there, or take a catamaran or short flight to this peaceful island retreat. There is only one resort on Young Island (named, appropriately, the Young Island Resort). Explore its lush rain forest interior or take it easy with a rum punch at the swim-up bar. With some 32 islands in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and only nine of them inhabited, these are just a few options. One is sure to be exactly the island you have dreamed of.
