Ernie Els Wines was the second stop on our wine tour around the beautiful countryside surrounding Cape Town.
Having started at Vergelegen and explored the beautiful grounds and house there, it was hard to believe the next vineyard could be situated any more beautifully; but somehow Ernie Els was even more breathtaking.
The walk from the car park to the house is stunning; a meander through canopied gardens before crossing a clear blue bool on a wooden step-path. Then, through the majestic front doors and a beautiful open plan seating and dining area is a beautiful garden rolling down onto the vineyard and then beyond to the mountains.
There is plenty of seating outside in the sun, and if the (amazing) wine isn't to your liking, you can always try out the putting green. We went on a Monday so the restaurant wasn't open. The service was amazing, and we continued onto the next vineyard with a boot full of wine.
