Skiing Erciyes in Central Turkey
Perhaps some of the best skiing in Turkey can be found on Erciyes, the tallest mountain in Central Anatolia (3,916 m or 12,848 ft). Besides the variety of slopes and paths to be skied, an added allure is the landmark's role throughout history. Located in whimsical Cappadocia, there are signs remaining from early civilization in caves throughout the area offering clues from those who passed through or took refuge there. Don't miss trying a bowl of manti while in Kayseri, the town nearby known for their version of the "Turkish ravioli".
