Pillars of Ephesus
Pillars of Ephesus
As an American it is difficult to fathom something that is from the 1st Century BC. That's really old! Ephesus (and a lot of other ruins in Turkey) made my draw drop. Here were ruins from 2-3 thousand years ago. Huh? Really? Some were still intact; some had been reconstructed a bit. But that fact that so much of wasn't just dust amazed me. If you go one place in Turkey outside of Istanbul, go to Ephesus. Spring is nice as it isn't too hot and you get the benefit of it being green and seeing flowers in bloom. This is one of my favorite images.
