Located on the more remote, northern side of Little Corn, Ensueños (literally "in dreams") is a magical place that begs you to slow down, relax, and let your worries float off into turquoise blue sea or drift off with the breeze. Bring a good book or two and plan to get sucked in, because life feels really good here.
The owner, Ramon, built the eclectic cabañas with organic, found and recycled materials -- mud, glass, shells, bamboo, driftwood, and mosaics. It's rustic, so don't expect little soaps on your pillow, and you might have to pump your own water for a shower. And there's no electricity in the cabañas, so bring a headlamp. What Ensueños lacks in amenities, it makes up for in natural beauty -- warm white sand, fireflies in the palm trees at night, the tranquil Caribbean...
Rent their snorkeling gear to explore the shallow waters or walk down the beach to the dive shack at Derek's Place where they have a full array of diving options and an excellent staff.
The food is hyper-local. One night, we feasted on crabs that Ramon caught in the jungle and washed in the sea -- delicious -- and all of the fruit -- bananas, mangp, pineapple, and avocados -- comes from their garden.
