Fields of Blue
Every spring, the little town of Ennis is hard to miss. It has been named “The Official Bluebonnet City of Texas," as its highways and roads are lined with fields blanketed in thick hues of Texas's state flower. Ennis has over 40 miles of mapped bluebonnet driving trails to enjoy, and visitors come from all over the state to experience these lush displays. Although the main season is for all of April, the bluebonnets commonly peak around the third week of the month; in season, the town website lists the current bluebonnet-spotting conditions.
