Travel Jewelry Find: An (Understated) Solitaire Diamond Bracelet
As a frequent traveler who logs in over 200,000 miles annually, I don't like to wear ostentatious jewelry, and with good reason. Flashy objects—even if worn to the theater— attract attention. As someone who tries to blend in with the scenery (you'll never catch me wearing jeans, sneakers and a camera slung over my neck), I try to be the "anti-tourist." But I've often wished for a truly lovely piece of jewelry that is not only elegant, but understated. And serendipitously, I discovered a red cord bracelet that didn't break the bank, but was just what I needed. The Limited Edition bracelet by Enchanted Diamonds doesn't have a diamond the size of Krakatoa: the 0.20 carat white diamond has the quiet grace of Audrey Hepburn while carrying heft (you can look at it and immediately know its worth). Sometimes, my lifestyle requires me to rough it in opera houses, fine dining venues and many parties, and I hate going to these venues without any valuable jewelry—and this really does the trick. Recently, I was in Bangkok, a city that is considered safe if you follow protocol and stay in the better hotels. And yes, I wore this bracelet on my trip and felt quite safe. And while the red cord is perfect for any skin tone, it is also perfectly-priced (almost a steal) at $500. Needless to say, it's a keepsake bit of travel jewelry for me.
