This acclaimed ice cream parlor with more than 15 locations (most Santiago malls have one) dishes out every imaginable flavor. Regulars crave dulce de leche, lifted from the namesake caramel dessert. Or try the Chilean classic called café helado, a tall glass of strong, chilled coffee with a scoop of ice cream at the bottom and whipped cream on top. ¡Ay, yi, yi! A rare spot for decaf coffee, as well as sugar-free and gluten-free treats, La Rosa serves breakfast, lunch, and high tea.

The Best Ice Cream in Santiago, if not All South America

The title says it all. I loved this place, a perfect cool-down in the hot Chilean summer. The homemade ice creams here are excellent, and on top of the traditional flavours they offer a few fruits native to Chile and Peru (lucuma, anyone?) Located next to a large park in the cool hood of Lastarria, the people watching is second to none.

Delightful flavors, ice cream artistry

This ice cream parlor is know for its delicious and unique flavors. There are multiple locations around Santiago, my favorite is around the corner on Lastaria were the crowds are fewer and the servers more kind and patient. Like most places in Chile you pay first and then bring your ticket to the ice cream counter. Make sure to taste the flavors you think you want before they give you your final scoop. My favorite is chocolate orange, or on a hot day rose or lemon-mint-basil.
