Emiliano
The iconic Copacabana section of Rio has a sexy new hotel for you to play in. Noted architects Arthur Casas and Chad Oppenheim designed the beach-facing Emiliano to be a tranquil, modernist oasis amid the throngs of bronzed bodies. Latticed cobogó facades on the 90 guest rooms offer privacy without sacrificing light or views, and each suite has its own balcony hammock. Of course, it wouldn’t be Rio without a killer rooftop pool: Emiliano’s has a restaurant with a vertical garden and a steady flow of caipirinhas. From $820. From the January/February 2017 issue.
