Ollantaytambo is a beautiful little town with way too many restaurants serving either pizza and pasta or overpriced and mediocre renditions of Peruvian classics. Skip all that and walk down to the train station to have dinner at El Albergue. (You actually have to go through the gate, so if they ask to see a train ticket, tell them you're going to the restaurant.) The outstanding meat and pasta dishes have some Peruvian twists, like my lamb (above) served with quinoa risotto. Good wine options and Peruvian craft beer complement the food.
