Living and Working in a KibbutzThere are various types of living in Israel. Whereas the majority are living in a city, the Kibbutz is the Israeli version of a socialist collective commune, where everyone is contributing and sharing the same standards of living and is traditionally based on agriculture.
Kibbutz Ein Gedi for example is well known for the dairy industry, special spa treatments in the Dead Sea or Guest Houses based on the farm-way of living. Kibbutz Alummot in the North, is well known for the Therapy and cleansing spa and Raw food menus.
Some of the Kibbutzim guest hoses are very popular among Israelis who want to spend a relaxing weekend.
Some of the big kibbutzim have visitors centers which explain the history of the place.
Visit one of the traditional kibbutzim in Israel, see how the farmers work, milk the cows, grow fruit and vegetables. Enjoy lunch in the collective dining room, and enjoy strolling in the greenery of the kibbutz. A lot of young people from other countries come to a Kibbutz to volunteer, work and enjoy a different way of living.
