Hiking through the Huyck Preserve
About a half hour from Albany, NY in the quaint historic town of Rensselaerville are 12 miles of great, family friendly hiking in the Huyck Preserve. The Preserve is one of the oldest biological research stations in the country and the area was part of the 17th century Van Rensselaer patroon. Ruins of an old felt mill, a great gorge and historic homes bordering the Preserve add to the beauty of these trails.
