Hiking Houston's Nature Sanctuary
The Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary comprises nearly 18 acres of woods in West Houston. It serves as the outreach headquarters of the Houston Audubon Society, a Texas Historical Site, and a peaceful respite for city residents. The sanctuary schedules free guided birdwatching walks once a month from October through May, as well as free guided nature walks once a month from September through May. At any other time, visitors are welcome to explore the sanctuary on their own. Download the Edith L. Moore bird checklist before hitting the trail.
