An easy day trip from Melbourne, Phillip Island is famous for its colony of Little Penguins, the smallest of the world’s 17 penguin species at approximately 33 centimeters tall. The star attraction is the sunset Penguin Parade, when hundreds of the tiny birds waddle ashore to roost after a day’s fishing, but also check out the sleepy marsupials at the Koala Conservation Centre and Australia’s largest seal colony near the Seal Rocks.
