I was eager to experiment with the self-timer on the PowerShot G5 X because I’ve found previously that this is an area in which point-and-shoots don’t offer much precision. So I set the camera on a small tripod and took several frames around some funky graffiti in Echo Park. I wanted to shoot in the Echo Park neighborhood because it has a youthful, hip vibe. This wall with amazingly detailed graffiti captured my imagination, and I decided to run through the frame myself to inject a sense of motion. I was pleased with the results and found I could consistently rely on the self-timer to fire accurately.
