Old World Bread
Once you walk inside, the setting, with its original hard wood ceiling, unfinished walls, and brick arched windows, made sense for a German beer garden meets French bakery. The hip, two-story outpost turns out more than 600, Paris-worthy baguettes a day—not to mention flawless dark brown, big-granule-salted, chewy-on-the-inside pretzels, show-stopping pain au chocolat, Scandinavian-style Danish pastries, and artisan breads from rye to levain batard. At Easy Tiger (part of the ELM restaurant group, helmed by "Top Chef" Competitor, Drew Curren), Norman’s creations complement the restaurant’s house-made charcuterie, and are enhanced by handmade mustards, cheese dips, and a stellar selection of beer.
