Get away from it all while you're getting away from it all.Earthlodge was recommended to me from fellow travelers who knew I loved to explore the countrysides on my own. This friendly little retreat is located on the hills above Antigua. They have a few A-frame cottages and a treehouse to stay in and if your budget is tight there are also camping and dorms available.
The views of the surrounding volcanos and city are incredible, I spent an entire afternoon meandering across steep coffee plantations in perfect temperatures. There is sauna to use anytime and yoga instruction in the mornings - even personal spanish lessons if you need a bit of a touch up. There are vegetarian (and non vegi) dinners that are served up every evening for a very fair price. And of course a full restaurant and bar for anything you may need during the day. My personal favorite was Drew's Fruity Disco (see menu attached) offered at Happy Hour. The expat owner Briana was super cool and extremely helpful.
