Dunham, QC, Canada
Eastern Township's Quaintest VillageBack in the 18th century, Dunham was the first county to be formed by the loyalists in the Eastern Townships. Don't worry, this isn't a history lesson, but knowing that it was the English who developed the region (as opposed to the French farther up north) is key to understanding Dunham's heritage.
It looks, at times, like the scenery was copied from a Jane Austen novel. With its green rolling hills and bucolic inns, Dunham is the ultimate postcard of the Eastern Townships (the area in a nutshell, if you will). The region is all about quaint B&Bs, brewpubs, wineries, a teeny main street, and wholesome locals. Plus, it's right on the Eastern Townships Wine Route itinerary.
