Drøbak

Havnegata 4, 1441 Drøbak, Norway

The quaint fishing town of Drøbak is located at the narrowest point of the Oslo Fjord. Boat traffic is busy here due to the many islands, the kayaking possibilities and the plentiful stocks of cod, pollock, ling and haddock, which are free to fish. Locals brag “the sun always shines in Drøbak,” and on summer days the town is filled with visitors from nearby Oslo, drawn to some of Norway’s best beaches. Out in the fjord is the island of Håøya (the Holy Island), much of which is a designated nature reserve.
