Dramatic Seascapes for Diving
Dominica is a diver’s paradise, with an underwater landscape that mimics the island’s topography: dramatic cliffs, canyons and pinnacles, volcanic craters, and geothermal vents that send up endless streams of bubbles at a dive site appropriately called the Champagne Reef. To access Scott’s Head Pinnacle, one of the island’s most popular dive sites, divers pass through Soldierfish Cave—a 35-foot swim-through with a thick curtain of soldierfish—before reaching the interior of an underwater volcanic crater. Caribbean reef squid, batfish, electric rays, sea horses, frogfish, and flying gurnards are among the underwater species you may swim across in Dominica’s clear waters
