play with the kidssometimes it is easier to interact with local people by talking to the kids... in most places the children are as curious about the travelers as we are about them. these young boys approached us in a village near the Dougga UNESCO World Heritage site. because of the Jasmine Revolution they were not seeing many foreign visitors in the area and so they ran down the hill to meet us. then they were shy- LOL - as little kids can be, but cameras that show photos instantly are a pretty good icebreaker and before long they were following us through their village as we explored the twisting lanes and beautiful doorways.
