Edo-Style TempuraMy wife and I were in Japan for her first visit, and we had resolved to stay in Japanese-style ryokans instead of Western-style hotels to save money as well as for the new experiences.
Needless to say, before GPS, this resolution made it challenging to actually find the physical address of our accommodations, but what it DID do was allow us to find other interesting sights, as we got lost in Tokyo.
That’s how we stumbled upon this gastronomic establishment. We were wandering when we saw a line forming outside this old building around noon. We were hungry and decided, What the heck, let’s check it out. Dark battered, sesame-oil fried seafood in a place that’s been doing it for decades—who doesn’t love that?
