Dolci Artigianali di Zakynthos
Stop here for a taste of the island’s traditional sweets—mantolato (nougat) and pasteli (honey-sesame bars). The Kotsoni family has been producing these delicacies in their shop since 1910, but mantolato’s roots extend back to the Middle Ages, when Zákinthos was under Venetian rule. Take some treats to go, but don’t stock up too much: The sweets are made without preservatives and won't keep longer than 10 days unless they're refrigerated.
