Dolcezza Gelato Factory and Coffee Lab open the door to the public recently. This is the third location of the young Slow Food Eat Locally entrepreneurship. The Factory & Coffee Lab is located in the Union Market area of the D.C., a gentrified neighborhood of the nation's capital. I have not visited the other two locations, DuPont Circle and Bethesda Row. However, the fresh locally produced gelato (all ingredients are fresh, purchased daily possibly on the Farmers market) is one of the best gelato (yes, not ice-cream) a have tried around the U.S. The place also is an oasis for the coffee addicts and for the occasional drinkers. The coffee is "roasted and imported" from Stumptown Coffee Roasters in Brooklyn, NY and every cup be it an espresso, cappuccino, and something in between or just a slow drip is singularly prepared with "maniacal" cure from the owner at the factory location or carefully trained staff in the other locations. In my opinion any location is a great way to start the morning for the locals or just enjoy a good espresso + gelato and people watching in a weekend or any occasion and recharge myself.
