Sandwiched between several other food spots on a busy road in Mitte, this inconspicuous restaurant is a wonderfully unpretentious place for sampling some great Israeli cuisine. The fairly spacious interior is as simple as the outside: Blackboard drawings and some quirkily arranged artworks provide the decoration, and food is served on unadorned wooden tables. Then again, it’s the food that’s the highlight. Whether you choose the baba ghanoush or hummus dishes (the latter can also be ordered with eggs shakshuka), grilled meat skewers, or a crisp Israeli salad, everything is fresh and filling as well as delicious and reasonably priced for this part of town. Besides soft drinks, the place offers some very good Israeli wines.
