Rustic open-air restaurant serving the best West Coast seafood.
One hours drive from Cape Town, Die Strandloper is a restaurant unlike any other... right on the beach, with the sand under your feet and fishing nets above your head, the restaurant functions almost completely off the grid. No electricity means that everything is cooked over open flame or in wood fires stoves and for an authentic taste of West Coast cooking, there isn´t a better place to be. Meals last between 3-4 hours and there are about 10 (sometimes more!) courses to get through, so pace yourself and don´t plan on getting anything done for the rest of the day. They have a fully liscenced beach bar but you are free to bring your own drinks and ice, and it´s not recommended that you make the trip without a reservation as this place is incredibly popular, especially weekends.
