Taos Ski Valley
Die-Hard Skiiers Unite Atop Katchina Peak
Taos Ski Valley holds a reputation as one of the most challenging mountains in the west, and the pinnacle of the valley's double-blacks resides atop Kachina Peak. It's about a 45-minute hike to the peak but at the top you can surely see the vastness and beauty of New Mexico. Then of course there's the run down the mountain. And that run just became far more accessible with the opening of the Kachina Peak chairlift that shuffles the avid skiiers to the top!
