Dick's culinary journey in PDX is an exacting evolution. After his venture with the successful Laughing Planet, he took his passion for healthy, locally sourced food into the Kitchen to deliver an instant classic. Hip, innovative, fresh. It's all about what goes in and it comes out with flavor and style, leaving clean plates all around.
Start with a menu that's focused yet diverse. From venison to wild boar, BBQ tempeh to baked NOT fries; there is something for every palate. Don't forget the dipping sauces, especially the chipotle aioli. Full bar if you're not into the milkshakes. Desserts are worth hanging around for. Service is a little soft, and the bright, sterile environment is a little stark mid-day. Parking in NW is a pain, so if you're visiting, take the streetcar or rent a bike to save yourself the headache. You could also try the Belmont location.
I love a trip to the Kitchen, and Dick's is right up there. Whether it's a casual lunch or a stop to refuel late-night, stop in for a bite.
