Though more than a quarter of the Netherlands lies below sea level, the Dutch are known for their ability to master the water. Made up of 13 sections of sluices, locks, dikes and barriers, Delta Works, which is considered one of the seven wonders of the modern world, was created following a massive flood in 1953. The Delta Experience is a water theme park that delves into the history, design and construction of this massive storm surge barrier and includes a panoramic 3-D animation of how the North Sea flooded Zeeland.
