Touring Texas Wine Country
Just a few short miles away from the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, you're in wine country. Texas' wine industry is centered around the appropriately-named town of Grapevine. Downtown is filled with places to taste the fruit of the local terroir, including the Homestead Winery & Tasting Room. Tour Delaney Vineyards to understand the science of winemaking in North Texas' climate. In April, accompany a mariachi band and a priest through Delaney Vineyards during the traditional Blessing of the Vines procession. The priest performs customary blessings over the grapes in the hopes of a bountiful harvest—followed by more secular celebration in Grapevine's tasting rooms.
