Set at the very westernmost tip of Texas, bordering both Mexico and New Mexico
, the Mountain Trail contains some of the most rustic and remote areas of the state. This is Big Bend country, with sparsely located towns like the eclectic community Marfa and the cultural border town of El Paso. This Mountain Trail includes only six West Texas counties, but they manage to fit a lot of rugged mountains and dramatic desert landscapes within their county lines. The broad vistas are unique and like none other in Texas.
