This impressive cultural center—aka “Long Ago House”—honors the First Nations heritage of the Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in people. Contemporary in design, the building evokes the traditional winter shelters and drying racks of the area. Exhibits explore life here before the gold rushers arrived, which was based around the Yukon River and an ancestral fish camp on its banks. The gift shop sells a terrific array of jewelry, beaded footwear and hand-crafted clothing, along with art and books.
