Danjugan island, about 3kms off the coast of Sipalay, Negros Occ. in the Philippines is a marine reserve that is little gem off the beaten path. I went here last August with my family for a very (sadly) short weekend. On our way back to the camp after a morning hike around the island, we were surprised at this amazing sight of literally thousands of small fishes swimming round a coral at one of the island’s lagoons. That’s alot of fish!

Jump Right In
I just had to take a photo of this while coming back to the camp (and only place to stay in the island) after a morning hike. We were standing on bamboo foot bridges over this lovely lagoon. We were the only “visitors” in the island that day, apart from a small group of school children who were there for a marine youth camp. Danjugan Island is a marine reserve about 3 kms off the coast of Negros Occidental, Philippines. If only I didn’t have my phone, camera and whatnots..I would have just jumped right in.
