Curacao Marriott Beach Resort & Emerald Casino

The Curacao Marriott is currently closed for renovations. It is slated to reopen in late 2018.

The Curacao Marriott Beach Resort may be one of the best located hotels I’ve ever been to. Situated on a private beach in Piscadera Bay, the resort feels like the height of secluded and elegant resorts. It’s also a short three-mile drive from the capital of Curacao, Willemstad; the free shuttle delivering guests to the heart of this colorful city. Whether or not you’re looking to just lounge by the pool or get out and explore the island, the Marriott makes it easy to do it all.

Sipping a Curacao Sunset

Many people may not know the island, but most have at least heard of its famous liqueur, the eponymous curaçao. Made from native citrus fruits, the taste is similar to orange and is the perfect addition to the classic beach cocktail. One of my favorite uses of this local libation is the Curacao Sunset. A simple drink using rum, Curacao liqueur, syrup and orange juice, a glass of this potent potable is the perfect way to welcome the sunset and say goodbye to another perfect day on the island.

Going under water around Curacao

The beaches on Curacao may be world famous, but it’s also well known as a premier snorkeling and diving site. Thanks to beautiful, coral formations and a bevy of shipwrecks, the options for intrepid adventurers are many. Personally, I prefer to snorkel and I wasn’t disappointed as I lept into the waters not far from the Marriott Curacao. This hotel is actually a great place to plan your watery adventures; they have a professional dive shop on site and run trips every day.
