Cala Morell Caves

Ctra. Camí de Cala Morell, 249, 07769 Ciutadella de Menorca, Illes Balears, Spain

On the north coast of Minorca, an ancient necropolis, or “city of the dead,” has been excavated in a cliff near the village of Cala Morell. It’s an important archaeological site that dates back thousands of years to the pre-Talayotic period. Visitors can walk inside the 14 burial chambers to see the amazing craftsmanship in their interior columns; one cave even has a relief carved into the rock facade.
