Cala Morell Caves
On the north coast of Minorca, an ancient necropolis, or “city of the dead,” has been excavated in a cliff near the village of Cala Morell. It's an important archaeological site that dates back thousands of years to the pre-Talayotic period. Visitors can walk inside the 14 burial chambers to see the amazing craftsmanship in their interior columns; one cave even has a relief carved into the rock facade.
