On the edge of California near the Oregon border, along Hwy 101, is Crescent City "Where the Redwoods Meet the Sea." A Pacific storm set off by an Earthquake in Alaska, hit here in 1964. Despite destruction, this little 2.4 sq miles town survived. The Tsunami mural is painted on a town wall, as reminder of the power of Nature and the people who call Crescent City home. Its a peaceful place, fog rolling over the ocean, sounds of ships in the distance and sandy beaches with wildflowers. Even the city library has a fireplace and high back leather chairs for comfort.
