Craft & Commerce
One of San Diego’s original craft cocktail bars reopened in September 2016 with an eye catching makeover that includes 100-year old taxidermy (a collaboration with the San Diego Natural History Museum), shelves lined with classic novels and even a tiki speakeasy hidden behind a walk-in cooler. The cocktails remain some of San Diego’s most reliable. At dueling bars, bartenders craft everything from a refreshing Whiskey Smash heaping with crushed ice to the Chilcano with Yerba mate-infused pisco, ginger, lime, Angostura bitters and soda. To be transported, make reservations at False Idol. The tiki bar has Papua New Guinea masks and a waterfall and serves cocktails like the original Trader Vic’s Mai Tai.
