Dreaming of a Caribbean Cruise
We’ve recently been to Antigua, which is a gorgeous island, but if I’m honest, I would have liked to have seen the rest of the Caribbean too. My wife loved it, of course, and all that lounging around on the beach wasn’t bad for me either, but I did crave a little more adventure.
So, I’ve been looking at Caribbean cruises on NCL’s website. I have been on a cruise before, but my wife hasn’t, so I thought it would be a great way to marry her love for white sands and sunny skies with my sense of adventure. The trouble is deciding on which itinerary she would like best!
The one that has taken my fancy so far is the Western Caribbean, though it’s more focused on Mexico, which departs from New Orleans. New Orleans is somewhere else I would really love to explore, with its fascinating history and melting pot of cultures, so I’m thinking we will spend a few days there before our cruise around the Caribbean.
This particular itinerary stops at Cozumel, a little island off the coast of Mexico, that has a coral reef and Mayan ruins to explore, as well as beaches and shopping – a perfect combination for my wife and I.
I think I’ll book this for my wife’s next birthday. She can enjoy having her every whim catered for on a huge cruise ship (as well as the gorgeous weather and the beaches and the shopping), and I’ll enjoy being in a different place every day with something new to see and do!
