Beached Boats along Alexandria’s Corniche
Strolling along the edge of the harbor in Alexandria, Egypt, it’s hard to miss the vibrant colors of the fishing boats lining the beach and boardwalk. The morning sun lights up the boats like an artist’s palette. Their hulls are covered in Arabic calligraphy, ancient hieroglyphs, and splashes of every color in the rainbow. You’ll find the boats at the Western end of the Corniche (the road that skirts the harbor). The best time to stop by is on the weekend, when many of the boats are out of the water. If you’re there on a hot day, check out the ice cream shops across the street!
