Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park
Way down south, just a stone’s throw from the Arizona border, this park is the result of the erosion of the pink-colored Navajo Sandstone. Like any dunes, they constantly shift under the influence of the wind. But the wind doesn’t always blow and when it’s calm there’s lots to do and a fascinating landscape to see and explore. The park is divided up into motorized and nonmotorized areas and is a favorite destination for ATV riders, and when the wind does pick-up again, the tracks are all erased making a clean slate for those adventurers. In the nonmotorized area there’s hiking, horseback riding, wildlife watching and of course, there’s the fun of capturing what you can in photos and video.
