Coplin Dinner House
Begin with a rural farmhouse rescued from abandonment and masterfully restored and renovated into a restaurant retaining its architectural bones. Not many folks would consider an unorganized territory with a population numbering fewer than 200 souls as a viable spot for a restaurant, but local chef Tony Rossi and partner Heidi Donovan recognized the potential. They knew Sugarloaf skiers, Bigelow Range hikers, and paddlers on Flagstaff and Rangeley lakes would come, and they did, drawn by well-prepared fare with an emphasis on regionally sourced ingredients. The dining-room menu is extensive—salads, pastas, fish and seafood, steak, chicken, pork, curry; a separate bar menu offers lighter fare, such as fish tacos, burgers, and sandwiches, including a pork-belly banh mi made with pork raised by an employee.
